Diploma thesis/Internship/Students work – InfoFlex
December 16, 2009InfoFlex – a Universal Component for Previewing information in Adobe Flex applications
Adobe Flex and Adobe AIR are state-of-the-art technologies for developing nice-looking web and desktop applications both for business an entertainment. However they have some limitations, e.g. only html, image and SWF documents can be embedded and rendered by either of technologies.
The goal of the current thesis is to create a universal previewer component for rendering PDF and Office (MS, OpenOffice) Documents in Flex/AIR. The result of the thesis will be a 2-tier component (client and server) that has to be integrated in the current research project LeCoOnt (http://lecoont.opendfki.de) and internally evaluated within a group of researchers.

Diploma thesis on LeCoOnt
October 7, 2009The idea of the thesis is to use Open Linked Data and mayme Semantic Desktop to build concept maps on the top of it.
One of the challenges here would be probably the ontolology alignment (e.g. LeCoOnt model vs DBPedia)

August 10, 2009Now on Touch & Write
August 10, 2009Saher el-Neklawy under supervision of Dr. Marcus Liwicki ported the original LeCoOnt application into the Touch & Write environment. They enabled LeCoOnt for Multi-touch and electronic pen input. Now we are looking for realistic use-cases for application of the product for teaching, learning and collaborating using LeCoOnt on Touch & Write.
